Our Early Childhood Education Programs
Infants & Toddlers
Our flagship program immerses infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 3 years in a vibrant learning environment, where children can explore, grow, and build early connections with caring educators. Through responsive instruction and age-appropriate sensory experiences, we support each child’s early cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development.
Pre-Kindergarten
Our full-day Pre-Kindergarten program for children aged 3 – 5 years nurtures curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning through play-based, hands-on exploration. Children build strong foundations in language, literacy, math, and social–emotional skills in a joyful, supportive classroom community.

Accreditation
CentroNía’s flagship center is accreditated by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Centers pursuing NAEYC accreditation must meet 80% or more of the 10 NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards set forth by the accrediting body. Our programs in DC hold quality designations from Capital Quality. Additionally, our Maryland programs are accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) EXCELS, holding recognition of four and five stars.
Dual-Language Model
In a bilingual environment with Spanish and English Speaking teachers, providing instruction simultaneously, children develop unique cognitive and linguistic skills that help prepare them for Kindergarten and beyond. Our commitment to a dual-language model stems from the proven, lifelong benefits of bilingualism—enhancing problem-solving, deepening cultural understanding, and strengthening school readiness. Over 90% of CentroNia staff are bilingual, reflecting the diversity and cultural identity of the communities served.
Curriculum & Assessment
CentroNía uses the Frog Street Curriculum for infants and toddlers and The Creative Curriculum for Pre-Kindergarters. Research-based, age appropriate curriculums ensure children develop and learn in four key areas: social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language.Children’s growth is documented through the GOLD developmental assessment tool. In each area, staff members observe and record progress made along a developmental continuum for each individual child. Pictures, written observations, and samples of the child’s work help both to document the child’s developmental stage and to assist the teacher in customizing appropriate activities. This data is used to adjust the curriculum to meet children’s needs and ensure they develop the skills necessary to be ready for school.
Family Engagement
Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers, and we are committed to supporting them in this role. We build strong relationships with families to support their well-being and create positive parent-child relationships, allowing both to learn and grow together. Throughout the year, we offer parent workshops, events, socializations, and parent-teacher conferences so families have ongoing opportunities to engage in their child’s learning and bridge the connection between home and school. The program reflects cultural competence and universal design approaches, promoting inclusivity, strengthen parent–child connections, and ensure every family feels seen and valued.
Parent Portal
Families can use our Parent Portal anytime during the school year to find important resources, policies, procedures, and more. If you have additional questions or need a form, please reach out to your program director or lead teacher—we’re always here to help!
