Our catering services address food insecurity by serving freshly prepared meals to childcare centers and schools in Wards 1 – 8, benefiting over 1,000 children daily.

What We Offer

At CentroNía, we believe that children have the right to access foods that will enhance their development and help them to establish lifelong healthy habits. We established our catering services to ensure that more young children across the DC Metro Region have access to fresh, tasty, and nourishing meals. We prepare and distribute 3,000 nutritious meals daily to our clients.

Our catering services are an essential component of CentroNía’s nonprofit work, addressing the nutritional needs of children from predominantly low-income households during the school day.

We offer breakfast, lunch, snack, and supper options. Our meals comply with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), the School Breakfast Program (SBP), as well as the District of Columbia’s Healthy Schools Act (HSA) and the Healthy Tots Act (HTA). We also have options to accommodate the needs of children with food allergies and vegetarian diets. Meals are priced at federal reimbursement rates for CACFP, NSLP, and SBP, ensuring financial accessibility while generating revenue to support CentroNía’s mission and sustainability.

What We Do

We prepare homemade meals daily and distribute them to our clients. Our meals are prepared using our three guiding principles:

Fresh

We use fresh produce and source locally, whenever possible. Our priority is to ensure that our meals preserve a greater content of nutrients and taste great!



Nourishing

We ensure that our recipes comply and exceed Federal and State regulations for child nutrition programs. We also expose children to a variety of foods to ensure that they receive a wide range of nutrients and that they develop a taste for fresh and nutritious food.


